Mullet Cut Tires, the cut that never goes out of style, have been helping drivers win races all over the country. Whether it is Burris or Maxxis, we can help. We can supply you with the same winning tire combinations that have proven successful for our race team and for our customers. All tires come mounted on a Williams Tru Roll Wheel. We put our tires through a special process to normalize them. We cut them at a unique pressure to get the best rubber removal. All Mullet Cut Tires are matched sets based on rubber date code, age, sidewall stiffness and material thickness throughout the tire. We have spoke with people cutting tires all over the country and have discovered that no one is cutting the same as us.
Our tires are cut on a unique and difficult to find tire cutting machine that few people are using. Our machine cuts the tire with a "cup" style cutter that rotates and trims the rubber from the tire as the tire is rotating. This cutting style eliminates issues with deflection and heat burnishing. We have experimented with other cutters, but we believe that ours provides the best cut available.
After cutting, the tires are matched in a set by sidewall stiffness in order to provide the user with the greatest stability in handling characteristics, improved tire wear on the outside tires and and increased ability to keep the kart "free".
After the tires are matched, they are marked so that you can identify RF from RR.

The results are a Great cut tire that allows the kart to work well on the track from start to finish, a tire that will last longer than most other cut tires, and a tire that stays more consitant all the way through to the end of the race. Our tires are free and fast! Each tire is labeled with size, sidewall stiffness, tire date code and the tire number.

The Gecker Challenge

Sure you have noticed shops selling cut tires for next to nothing. Ask them if they do the following:

Make the tire round and square before cutting, Size and freeze to secure tire diameter when done, check profile to CAD drawings

The answer is no. Chances are your new tires have less rubber on one side than the other. That is because the tire is not square before it is cut. If the above work is not done, you are buying inferior tires. There is a lot that goes into making tires good and we do the work. That is a big time pay off for sure!!
